Introduction

Local councils receive thousands of emails, documents and attachments every year. Depending on a message's content, council staff must file the correspondence under the NSW State Records Act, create any required task or action item, and determine the appropriate retention period using the Functional Retention and Disposal Authority (for example: FA450, FA404, FA428, FA402 and FA367).

To reduce manual effort, we have custom-profiled a set of 25 folders and containers matching common council filing definitions. Three examples are shown below (from the 25+ categories profiled).
